BASSOLINO
Saturday, November 16 – 11:00 PM
Sala Ipogea, Parma
Bustling squares pulsed by mantric percussion, smiling faces to the tune of Arabic melodies, buses snaking through traffic under a sun that warms like the blues.
Seagull wings beating to the rhythm of prog, and street kids singing neomelodic tunes.
We are in Naples, in the 1970s, with a few smugglers around, like in a gangster movie.
And finally, there’s a soundtrack that encapsulates this space and time: Città Futura.
This album, conceived during the pandemic, is the debut of Bassolino, the new artistic project of pianist and composer Dario Bassolino.
Dario, long active in the national nu-jazz scene, is a standout in the vibrant new Neapolitan music scene alongside names like Nu Genea.
