An evening with: Sun Kil Moon

Thursday, November 14 – 11:00 PM Borgo Santa Brigida, Parma

Sun Kil Moon is the moniker behind the acclaimed American singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek.

Kozelek emerged in the ’90s with his band Red House Painters, formed in a San Francisco scene that rivaled Seattle’s grunge explosion. While the competition was steep, the Californian band managed to carve out a respectable niche with a dedicated following.

Mark’s troubled youth—calling him problematic would be an understatement, as he struggled with drug addiction at a young age—has since evolved into a prolific and refined career, establishing him as one of the most respected names in modern U.S. singer-songwriters.

Known for his intimate, reflective lyrics and distinctive vocal style, Kozelek has made his mark with cult albums like the debut “Ghosts of the Great Highway” and the undeniable gem “Benji”, an absolute and undisputed masterpiece.
